How to become a Famous Fashion Designer

For sure lots of designer wannabies out there would like to be in-line with those famous designers of today's generation as they are truly unreachable now after all their hard works, patience, and determination.

How you will able to know that you are destined to be a designer? Here are few signs that could help you:

1. You used to spent most of your time in creating clothes for your barbie dolls rather than going outside with your friends and play.

2. You would prefer reading fashion magazines instead of reading school books.

3. At an early age, you already ran a boutique of your own, meaning you are obsessed with fashion.

However, there are some aspects of the profession. Being a fashion designer would mean supervising a design team in producing a label under your own name. Creating your own label would surely takes a lot of time, dedication and hard work so its not that easy. Its identity should be unique which of course different from the other label.

Take these also as your guide when planning to be a designer someday:

1. Strategic aspect – there are many ways to venture upon a fashion career as there are many styles of design to create. Ralph Lauren's Polo was actually founded on a small tie collection that he used to sold to Bloomingdales. However, according to others the best footing for a design career is to enrolled in a fine arts degree in fashion in one of the prestigious school. This is actually a big help, as this will add credibility on one's resume.

2. Get into a fashion program – there are lot of colleges that offers fashion program but it would be better enough if it is handful as this will really push your career. Consider also that it's not easy to enter in these schools as competition is high and they tend to be selective. It would be a plus if you have already taken sewing experience as they are also taking it in consideration. Make sure also that you are able to draw because that was an important skill that a designer must have. Much better if you have taken any art class so that you will understand more form and proportion.

3. Choosing another route – if you just want to have a job then you don't have to enrolled in an art school. You will just need to have an internship at any fashion house and work your way up. But take note that it would be difficult to get an internship without an education.

4. Having a better understanding about the business – being a good or an expert designer is not enough for you to be successful in this type of career. You must have a better understanding on how to run such business before you enter. If you plan to enter in such business you should have at least idea on the basics of economics.

To be successful in the business or career you have chosen you must be totally equipped with all the knowledge. Don't be selfish, share to others what you knew and learn also from them. Be open to any suggestions as this also be a help to you. Who knows, that would be the key on your success.
