What to consider when buying a sock

Sock has been a big help to us as it gives comfort to our feet. You can even find socks anywhere but you are not sure of its quality, remember that quality matters a lot! But, how do you find a good pair of socks and avoid outwit as we know that there are lots of deceit people out there?

Obviously, what people want is to have a comfortable socks at an affordable price. Let us accept the fact the we get to know if our prospect socks in-fact comfortable or of good value until after we buy and try them. Most of us can't deny also that they used to buy socks based on its brand, word of mouth and by first impression in which after they tried to used them they get to know if their decision were right.

When you are planning to buy socks you have to considered these four important things as experts have suggested:

Sock Fabric

Natural fabrics: like wool and cotton add softness, rich fibers and comfort.
Synthetic fabrics: like nylon, polyesters and acrylics add stretch ability, flexibility, more uniform thread structure.
If you normally wear formal and less breathable shoes then look for a synthetic sock because it will give you both a thinner sock and a lighter fabric and will keep your feet cool and dry. But if ever you need a sock for an active lifestyle then a thicker cotton based sock is the best for you as it will give you coolness and comfort.

Performance socks and special purpose socks such as hiking, biking, or race driving socks will be more complex having different regions of different fabrics such as a thicker heel, toe, or sole depending with a lighter airier top and synthetic high stretch and high grip band.

Sock Height

This factor is actually a personal and fashion preference of most people. However according to fashion experts there is one functional aspect of sock height which is friction. Socks not only help comfort your feet, provide moisture control, and promote healthy blood circulation; they are also consider a soft barrier between your feet and the annoying friction against your shoes or sandals.
You should always chose a sock that is of enough height to prevent friction between your feet and your shoes. This will ensure a comfortable blister free experience.

Sock Fit

Socks should fit orderly without cramping your toes or allowing extra material to fold, wrinkle, and cause friction. Your sock's heel should fit snugly around your heel. The arch area should fit snugly around your arch. Seams should be flat and should not rub any part of your foot.

Interior Construction

Most people don't look at the inside of their socks before they buy them. Most of us don't even try to look at the inner side of the socks, seeing the outside appearance is enough but this attitude is not advisable. A good practice before you buy socks is to flip them inside out and inspect the seams at the toe, the heel and the elastic top. A good sock looks almost the same inside out as it does the right way around. If on the other hand you find that the toe seems for example are not flat, then expect a painful future of rubbing, irritation and blisters.

In the end, of course, we all want to have a beautiful, comfortable and useful socks.

I would also suggest you to visit Ralph Lauren site as they offer highly quality socks.
