How to wear oversized sweaters

During fall season, we love to wear slouchy oversize sweaters. But there are things that we need to consider when wearing such clothing in order to avoid sacrificing our fashion style.

Here are the Do's and Don'ts that we need to keep in mind always. As per fashion experts:

  1. Do wear a big sweater with leggings or skinny jeans. Slim-fitting bottoms will balance out the bulkiness of the sweater. Don't wear sweats, wide-leg, or flared jeans, as they will cause you to look wider. Skirts are a don't too unless they reach about three inches below the end of the sweater.
  2. Do cinch your outfit with a belt to give your waist definition. Just remember one rule: the shorter the sweater, the skinnier the belt should be! Don't pair a wide belt with a top that only falls one or two inches below your waistline.
  3. Do choose comfortable footwear options like knee-high or over-the-knee boots, chunky booties, and flats. Don't wear stilettos or other evening wear. Flip flops and sandals are a couple more don'ts, unless you want to look seasonally confused!
  4. Do wear some chunky jewelry, like statement necklaces and embellished cuffs. Just don't go overboard with accessories! One or two pieces of jewelry at a time will suffice.
